Women and children make up 80% of the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh and the main aim of the deployment will be addressing the gender specific issues faced through the recent sustainable programme of safe-pad production, distributing Dignity Kits and Boxes for Life and providing mammography clinics and trauma counselling.
Volunteers will distribute vital supplies to people in need including; nutritional food, sanitary products, a baby cot and underwear, as well as being able to work with orphans and having a free day to spend on the beach or on a city tour.
In Kenya the priority will be to improve the physical, mental and emotional well-being of FGM survivors, fistula suffers and orphans. As well as improving WASH conditions through the construction of a water well and teaching safe WASH practices.
The volunteers will also have the chance to interact with orphans and take part in a safari with the Masai community and do activities with them.
Each deployment offers a group of volunteers the chance to see and be part of Global One’s continued commitment to making a difference and supporting communities as well as becoming a Global One Ambassador upon completion of the trip.
By working with our country office teams, you will gain an in-depth perspective of the areas of concern, giving you a unique experience in the knowledge that the work you are doing is directly needed by the recipients.
The funds for each deployment must be raised by each individual prior to departure and as long as the mission statement of Global One is advocated it can be raised in any way, from fundraising to crowdfunding.
